everyday = a blessing

It's absolutely amazing how will throw his world at your attempts to be Christ-like and spread the news about Jesus.
Being thankful---have you EVER lived w/o food??? No, really....EVER?!
Have you had to endure even just one full day of no electricity or water in your house?!
Maybe we need to have some experiences like that so that we will truly be thankful for what we already have---those things that we take for granted---
Most of the world does not have what those who can connect to the internet can see and read here.....most of the world lives in poverty that would shake/rattle and roll your world.
So what do we do with all this?
get on our knees and thank God for blessing you so abundantly
see others the way God sees them and do not be shy about offering to do what needs to be done for others
let others know who is your life force
give up what you have
yup....give it up.
You know where your treasure is and that's all you need!
( Dear reader, this is a note to me, myself and I. You don't need to do anything with it. When I can write this way....I feel better. Last nite my plumbing clogged and for the first time ever rose over the kitchen sink with a black vile water. My basement drain access erupted with sewage and I spent five hours repairing my plumbing till 12:30 AM last nite......and in the end. I got a shower with clean, hot and cold water in a house that God gave me....thank you)

Proverbs 3

just a few highlights from Proverbs 3---if you have the time check out the whole chapter---shouldn't take you more then 5-10 minutes.

Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart.

Honor the LORD from your wealth and from the first of all your produce; So your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.

My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD or loathe His reproof, for whom the LORD loves He reproves, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Do not be afraid of sudden fear nor of the onslaught of the wicked when it comes; For the LORD will be your confidence.

my pet monster

I have been feeding my monster for several months now and he has gotten quite large and I have not been able to contain him for a while. He started out as this little guy and wasn't ever really a problem, but I let him grow by feeding him and ignoring his existence. I am done ignoring him and feeding him. Today I will kill him through the grace granted me by Jesus Christ. I will expose him and acknowledge him and cut him down without any mercy for this monster is trying to devour me and I will not let him!
Whenever we get sin on us our reaction should be that we have stuck our hands in the most disgusting vile we could ever imagine and we need to wash our hands....if we don't get the vile off it grows into a monster that if you let it....WILL DEVOUR YOU.
Don't let it!

the job

Huey Lewis & the News
For you people into the 80's this was about as pop as you could get.
Go ahead click the youtube link and listen to the song as you read the post.

ahhhh......the job!

The workplace.
The place and/or thing I do to support my family.

For so long, I have worked so hard and allowed work to identify who I am.

I take my job to seriously.

I work at it as if working for God, but problem is that sometimes, I would say it is looking like I put my job before God. (blogging is like journaling.....just public, it helps you work things out)

I had to make a decision this week about work and play and play won. It is not normal. I am always able to fit things in for the betterment of the company and this time I did not. It is/was hard for me to decide this, but I did it.

So Mr. J O B----that's what you are, a job and as my wife, the beautiful one said, (who just left for Cali!! ) what I will be doing the week in question, the week that Mr. J O B asked me to squeeze a day out of.....what I will be doing that week is work that will impact and last a lifetime.
and that my friends----trumps all!

love ya'

life lesson # 4

I recently heard a speaker and they said one of the most important things they had ever learned were their ABC's.

You know your ABC's right???

ALWAYS BE CONFIDENT and if you don't feel confident--FAKE IT, no one will know the difference.

today, my alarm did not go off and I missed an important train to be in DC for a mtg with my boss @ 8:45. I will be one hour late....my confidence was shattered.
2 things---
I assessed the worst case scenario and realized I would be an hour late and there was nothing I could do about it and I faced it head-on. My fault, no excuses.
Instead of skipping my morning prayer with my wife I made sure we prayed. I felt 1,000 x's better after we prayed.

and I am practicing life lesson # 4 all day---faking the confidence and after a bit I am sure my natural confidence will resurrect itself.

what i am reading

According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it.
For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,
each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work.
If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward.
If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.

if you check here (theblog).....can you tell me what the bolded/italics part means?
from 1 Corinthians 3

I have my thoughts...curious as to yours.

tv---today's idol?

The 1st time I saw a color television was in 1967; I was 6 years old and had walked 1/2 a block to my friends house to ask him to come outside to play. I knocked on the door and he agreed to come out, but had to put on his sneaks so he asked me into his living room where it was very dark and in the corner was the tv with the Flintstones on and for the first time I saw a color television---Fred's suit was NOT grey, but ORANGE and Dino was PURPLE---WOW!!! When I got home I excitedly told my parents of this NEW contraption and I don't really remember much after that.

When my beautiful wife and I got married in 1982 we lived in an apartment with dreams of a family and a house and in order to establish credit to eventually get a house and those wonderful things called credit cards we needed to establish credit at ground level....this meant going to Strawbridge and Clothier where my wife's dad worked part-time and buying a 19" Sony TV (they were just about all color by now). The deal was if we got approved for a 30-60-90 day credit program...then we will have started the wonderful credit lifestyle. But we had to pay off the TV in that time period or else...I am not sure what "or else" was, but it wasn't good! So for 600 dollars we established our credit. This wonderful credit has it's purposes; good/bad, but today we have a house and today we looked at the amazing Panasonic TH50PZ85U for a mere 2,150 dollars on sale with no interest for 36 months if you don't miss a payment.
So....what have I become?
Really....who and what am I to spend the money on something like this?
No, I haven't pulled the trigger just yet, but I am about to....I think......
Stuff like this really drives me crazy----for 2,150 we could support SIX Compassion International kids and make a real difference in the world at least for them..... or me?
