I have seen good and I have seen evil...I will fight the evil of the world by spreading the good.

When you see and hear the evil - go to the good, think of the good. Stand up for the good.

I think you are taking too much liberty with the lyrics of this song in contrasting them with biblical quotations and strictly Christian theology. Marley, although a self professed monothiest, was most likely writing this song in accordance with the rastafarian belief that the divine is reincarnate in man.

No doubt of Marley's potential use of the lyrics. I do believe that my interpretation is...my interpretation. My purpose in life being biblical, is my purpose and my use of the lyrics is more of a fight between good and evil for me. The night before the post I was part of a highly confrontational situation in which a person used some racial slurs publicly and my thoughts arose to these lyrics since I refuse to ignore what is considered to be wrong...and trust me...IT WAS SERIOUSLY WRONG/EVIL. So I will get up, stand up and say what NEEDS to be said in these situations. My use of scripture is to enforce the good that I TRY to live by especially when confronted by evil. But thanks for the insight...I truly appreciate it.
